for Rigging a Mylar Jib
The basic rigging parts are as follows:

1 forestay 3/32” x 1:19 length 161”

1 17mm shackle (forestay to Ubolt at bow)
1 halyard, 2.5mm grey Spectra , total length* = 298”
1 small twist locking shackle, to attach halyard to head of
sail
1 purchase rope, 4mm pink Spectra, (3:1 purchase) 75”
1 CL 236 cleat with roller fairlead
1 HA 2021 single roller hooked block

* Halyard: total length =
130” for halyard, from shackle at head of jib to loop for
hook
+162” for retrieval line
+ 6” for tying loops
Notes:
- No halyard block is listed. The halyard can be led through
the welded sailmakers thimble in the forestay, as shown. If you
want to use a block, a Ronstan Series 19, as shown, or similar,
will work well.
- Tie the twist locking shackle to one end of the halyard.
- The CL 236 ClamCleat with roller should be mounted on the aft
face of the mast, lower than the cleat for the downhaul.
- The purchase line is dead ended by passing it through the rivet
in the HA 2021, as shown, then runs over the roller in the cleat
shown and through the block for 3:1 purchase. The block is hooked
through a loop tied in the halyard.
- No parts are listed for securing the jib tack to the uBolt or
shackle. Use 2.5 mm line (a CL 212 cleat as shown is allowed)
or a shackle, as shown.
