Al Morris Memorial Regatta
August 12 & 13
The annual regatta will take place at Yale
Reservoir located east of Woodland, Washington. Take I-5 to the
Woodland Exit, go east on HWY 503 to the community of Cougar. Then 1/2
mile farther will be the entrance to the Pacific Power Cougar Camp Ground.
Camping will be available either in the general camp ground on a first come
basis or by signing up for camping in the group site on the registration
form.
- REGISTRATION: $15 per boat (Skipper
under 21 years $10)
- CAMPING: (Group Site only):
$20 We have the site for Friday and Saturday nights.
- SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER: At a small cost of
$5.00 there will be a variety of salads, desserts, condiments, soft
drinks, utensils, and barbecues. Bring your own meat or other
substance to grill.
- OTHER FEES: Pacific Power will charge
daily ramp fees and day use fees. Identify to the park
personnel at the pay booth that you are with the group site and the
regatta. There may be changes. A day use fee will only
be charged per car for people not registered in the regatta.
- CLASSES: Four registered one-design
boats constitute a fleet. Smaller fleets will sail under the
Portsmouth handicap system. Expecting Lasers, Tasars, Thistles,
Lidos, Snipes
- TROPHIES: Awards will be presented
following the last race on Sunday. One trophy for 1-4 boats, two
trophies for 5-7 boats, and three for 8 or more boats.
- RACE SCHEDULE: August 12 and 13, Skippers
meeting Saturday at 10:30 near the group site restrooms. Yellow
flag for first race Saturday is 12:00 noon. The first yellow flag
on Sunday will be at 10:00 am. No races will be started after 2:00
p.m., Sunday.
